Sarah Meixell, DVM
Dr Sarah Meixell graduated from Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine and has been here at Veterinary Care of Ithaca (in its various forms) since 1985. She loves clients, patients, medicine; in short, she loves everything she does here!
"Pets play such an important role in our lives. When we improve an animal’s life, we enrich the owner’s life as well. I can’t think of anything I’d rather spend my days doing."

Elizabeth Barnes, DVM
Dr. Barnes is a graduate of the University of Illinois and brings an energetic approach to the team of at Veterinary Care of Ithaca. In working with the patients and clients she sees at VCI, Dr. Barnes is kept busy with her pets, farm and husband, Neil. On the rare occasion that she finds downtime, you may find Dr. Barnes outdoors - cycling, hiking or enjoying a good book.

Patty Pate, DVM
After graduating from Mississippi State University, Dr. Patty Pate went on to complete an internship at Texas A&M University. She loves all her patients and clients, but she especially loves the kittens! She has 3 cats, one hamster and a Pekingese named Bonsai.
"Pets enrich our lives and they are often a very important part of our family. I love providing quality care for them and helping them live long and happy lives."

Jamie Small, Office Manager
Jamie has been with us since we were Ithaca Small Animal Hospital. She loves the variety of work and gives a hundred percent of herself to every animal and person she meets. Jamie and her husband have five beautiful children and a menagerie of animals including one cat, three dogs, and a pot-bellied pig named, no kidding, Bacon. Two more pot-bellied pigs have recently joined her family as well!

Carrie Diamond, LVT
Carrie graduated from Alfred State in 2008 and soon after joined us at Veterinary Care of Ithaca. She loves working with animals, is passionate about her career, and can’t wait to face new challenges. Carrie wants to fill her hew house with, as she puts it, “as many pets as she can get away with.”

Jen Biasillo, LVT, CCRP
A third year veterinary student at Cornell, Jen is also a Licensed Veterinary Technician and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner who works in our Lab. Her knowledge as a technician and her positive “can-do” attitude make her a great addition to our team. When she’s at home, she keeps busy cooking, reading, hiking with her dogs Stella, Molly, and Archie, playing with her new kitten Franklin, and tending to her three chickens.

Jonathan Howe, LVT
As a graduate of Alfred State’s Veterinary Technician Program, Jonathan’s passion is truly working with animals. Living with his cat Chloe in Lansing, this animal lover is known for his quick wit and his quality service given to both clients and patients.

Krista Stone, Lead LVT
Krista started at Veterinary Care of Ithaca in December 2009 as a licensed veterinary technician. In her free time, she and her husband enjoy hiking; drawing and painting and have just adopted a Shih Tzu. She loves the family atmosphere and laughter at VCI.

Ryan Conor Gilroy, Marketing Director, Front Desk
Ryan brings to VCI his hospitality background and love for animals to create a welcoming Reception environment where he’s become known for his sunny disposition. A jokester and a full-time staff member, Ryan is the co-owner of two large dogs – Braedon and Quinn.

Jennifer Brown, Front Desk
Jennifer has been a long time client and is now one of the warm faces and cheerful voices that greet you when you call or visit. Jennifer knows the ins and outs of Veterinary Care of Ithaca making her our “go-to” front staff person. She stays busy at home with her energetic Boxer Boo, and cats Dash and Smokey Grace.

Christina Ryan, Front Desk
Christina has been with us since 2007. She has a variety of duties at VCI including reception, office work, and basically whatever we need from her. She stays busy at home with her husband and 2 children, Christopher, 3 years, Madison, 2 years, and Gunner , their new puppy.
